# TextRP Privacy Policy

Please read this document carefully before accessing or using this service.

### 1. Introduction

#### 1.1 English, not legalese

Most Privacy Policy documents are too difficult to understand. They are written by lawyers for other lawyers, and in our opinion, they are ineffective. Data protection and privacy are essential, and we want you to understand the issues involved. Therefore, we chose to use plain English as much as possible to make our terms as clear as possible.

Where you read 'The TextRP homeserver' or 'the Service' below, it refers to the services made available at <https://app.textrp.io> which store your account and personal conversation history, provide services such as bots and bridges, and communicate via the open Matrix decentralized communication protocol with the public Matrix Network. The TextRP chat client is the software used to access the TextRP homeserver.

The public Matrix Network is a decentralized and openly federated communication network. This means that user messages are replicated on each participant's server and messages posted to a room are visible to all participants including in some cases any new joiners. This is further explained at 2.3.

Where you read Xurge Digital Lab LLC, Xurge Digital Lab, or The Company, it refers to the business entity incorporated in North Carolina, USA, and their agents.

The Matrix protocol is licensed by the Matrix Foundation which makes it available to third parties who set up their own homeserver. This privacy policy does not apply to such Matrix servers run by anyone else - Matrix is an open network like the Web and this agreement only applies to the server (TextRP) provided by the TextRP chat client.

TextRP is the Data Controller for the Service and works with the TextRP chat client as a Processor for data processing, hosting and management purposes. We can be contacted as per the details below:

Email: <dpo@textrp.io>

Postal address:

Xurge Digital Lab LLC 2800 Raeford Rd STE 2-87094 Fayetteville NC 28304

Should you have other questions or concerns about this document, please send us an email at <nft@textrp.io>.

#### 1.2 This is a living document

This is a living document. With your help, we want to make it the best it can be.

If you read something that rubs you the wrong way, or if you think of something that should be added, please get in touch! We're all ears! Email <nft@textrp.io> and we'll chat. We don't amend this document for any specific users or use case, but if your proposed changes apply to all of our users, we'll be happy to update it for everyone. Scroll to the bottom to see the history so far.

We will likely improve this document over time and we will take steps to inform our users about any updates. By continuing to use the Service, you will implicitly accept the changes we make. If updates to this document are ever associated with significant changes to the way we collect our process your data, we will promptly notify you.

Your access and use of the Service is always subject to the most current version of this document.

### 2. Access to your Data

#### 2.1 What is the legal basis for processing my data and how does this affect my rights under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)?

**2.1.1 Legal basis for processing**

TextRP processes your data under a Legitimate Interest basis of processing, to provide our Service to you in an efficient and secure manner and to ensure the legal compliance and proper administration of our business. Essentially, this means that we process your data only as necessary to deliver the Service and for internal administration purposes, and in a manner that you understand and expect. We also carry out processing that is necessary to provide our Service to you under our TextRP Homeserver Terms and Conditions and processing that is necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Where consent is required by law in relation to certain processing, we will ask for your consent.

We process your information for the purposes of providing our decentralised, openly-federated and end-to-end encrypted communication Service, getting in touch with you, responding to your requests, working with our suppliers to deliver the Service and enabling its features, ensuring the security of our Service, developing, fixing and improving our Service, administering our business and complying with the law.

The nature of the Service and its implementation results in some caveats concerning this processing, particularly in terms of GDPR Article 17 Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten). We believe these caveats (discussed in the section below in detail) are in line with the broader societal interests served by providing the Service. In situations where the interests of the individual appear to be in conflict with the broader societal interests, we will seek to reconcile those differences guided by our policy.

**2.1.2 Your rights as Data Subject**

You have rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you. Some of these only apply in certain circumstances. Some of these rights are explored in more detail elsewhere in this document. For completeness, your rights under GDPR are:

1. The right to be informed
2. The right of access
3. The right to rectification
4. The right to erasure
5. The right to restrict processing
6. The right to data portability
7. The right to object
8. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

We may ask for proof of identity before responding to your request. For more details about these rights, please see the guidance provided by the ICO. If you have any questions or are unsure how to exercise your rights, please contact us at <nft@textrp.io>.

**2.1.3 Right to erasure**

You can request that we forget your copy of messages and files by instructing us to deactivate your account (using a Matrix client such as the the TextRP chat client chat app) and selecting the option instructing us to forget your messages. What happens next depends on who else had access to the messages and files you had shared.

Any messages or files that were only accessible by your account will be deleted from our servers within 30 days.

Where you shared messages or files with another registered TextRP user, that user will still have access to their copy of those messages or files. Apart from state events (see 2.1.3.1 below), these messages and files will not be shared with any unregistered or new users who view the room after we have processed your request to be forgotten.

State events are processed differently to non-state events. State events are used by the Service to record, amongst other things, your membership in a room, the configuration of room settings, your changing of another user's power level and your banning a user from a room. Were we to erase these state events from a room entirely, it would be very damaging to other users' experience of the room, causing banned users to become unbanned, revoking legitimate administrator privileges, etc. We therefore share state events sent by your account with all non-essential data removed ('redacted'), even after we have processed your request to be forgotten. This means that your username will continue to be publicly associated with rooms in which you have participated, even after we have processed your request to be forgotten. We are actively working on a solution to work around this restriction and allow you to be fully forgotten while maintaining a high quality experience for other users. If this is not acceptable to you, please do not use the Service.

Because an account deactivation results in the removal of any data which could be used to validate the ownership of an account, it is our policy to not reactivate deactivated accounts. This measure is in place to protect the privacy and integrity of all accounts.

**2.1.3.1 Exceptional erasure**

As described above, erasing a state event may result in our needing to erase the entire conversation at the same time. Deciding whether to take this drastic step will require a balancing exercise to be carried out at the time of the request, and will depend on:

1. the nature of the Personal Data that the user is requesting to be erased;
2. how many other users would have their fundamental rights and freedoms put at risk if the Right to Erasure were to be exercised
3. to what degree these other users would have their fundamental rights and freedoms put at risk if the Right to Erasure were to be exercised

The Personal Data contained in a state event is usually limited to the username, the timestamp and the conversation in which the state event was issued. State events only represent that a user participated in a given conversation at a given time. It is rare that this data is sensitive enough to warrant its erasure given the drastic impact this will have on other users.

Each case will be decided based on the factors listed above. In most situations we will not erase state events. In extreme situations, where not erasing state events will place people at material risk of harm, we may choose to erase state events or remove the entire conversation.

**2.1.3 Data portability**

Under GDPR you have a right to request a copy of your data in a commonly-accepted format. If you would like a copy of your data, please send a request over to <nft@textrp.io>. In the future we will provide a better interface for this!

**2.2 What Information Do You Collect About Me and Why?**

The information we collect is purely for the purpose of providing your communication service via Matrix. We do not profile users or their data on the Service.

Be aware that while we do not profile users on the Service, third party services may gather usage data.

**2.2.1 Information you provide to us:**

We collect information about you when you input it into the Service or otherwise provide it directly to us.

**2.2.1.1 Account and profile information**

We collect information about you when you register for an account. This information is kept to a minimum on purpose, and is restricted to:

* Account address (XRP wallet address)
* Display Name (if you choose to provide one)
* Your email address (if you choose to provide it)
* Your verified telephone number (if you choose to provide it)
* Your wallet address is used to authenticate your access to the Service and to uniquely identify you within the Service.
* Your email address and/or telephone number, if you choose to provide them, are used so that other users can look up your Matrix ID from these identifiers. We will also use your email address to send you notifications about missed messages from users trying to contact you on TextRP if you enable the option. We may also send you infrequent urgent messages about platform updates.

**2.2.1.2 Content you provide through using the Service**

We store and distribute the messages and files you share using the Service (and across the wider Matrix ecosystem via federation) as described by the Matrix protocol and according to the access rules configured within the system. Storing and sharing this content is the reason the Service exists.

This content includes any information about yourself that you choose to share.

**2.2.1.3 Information you provide through purchases in the Matrix Foundation shop**

The TextRP Shop is an online store at which you can purchase TextRP-branded merchandise, such as stickers or tee-shirts. All proceeds go to Xurge Digital Lab LLC. Data you provide for this purpose is processed under Performance of Contract. This means that we process your data for the purposes of fulfilling orders you make from us, getting in touch with you, responding to your requests, working with our suppliers to deliver the Service and enabling its features, ensuring the security of our Service, developing, fixing and improving our Service, administering our business and complying with the law.

The information we collect is purely for the purpose of taking payments for merchandise and shipping your purchases to you. We do not profile users or their data on the Service. We may need your personal information to establish, bring or defend legal claims. For this purpose, we will retain your personal information for the statutory recommended 7 years after the date it is no longer needed by us for any of the purposes listed under How we use your information above.

**2.2.1.3.1 Information you provide to us:**

We collect information about you when you input it into the Service or otherwise provide it directly to us.

* Name and contact details
* Delivery address
* Purchase information
* Payment details (handled by a third party provider, not visible to Xurge Digital Lab LLC employees)

**2.2.1.3.2 Information we collect automatically as you use the service:**

Your IP address is logged when you access the Service. This data is used in order to mitigate abuse and debug operational issues. Our logs are kept for not longer than 180 days.

**2.2.1.3.3 Third-parties**

Printful

We may select third-party vendors to provide our shopfront. By purchasing from our shop, the following details will be shared with them:

* Your purchase details
* Your name and contact details
* Your delivery address
* IP addressed and cookies

For further details, please refer directly to the third-party vendor’s privacy policy:&#x20;

Stripe and Paypal

We may use Stripe and Paypal to handle payment processing. By purchasing from our shop, the following details will be shared with either Stripe or Paypal:

* Your payment details
* Your purchase value

Stripe and/or Paypal takes care of all payment processing, so The Matrix Foundation and its employees will never see your payment details.

Here is Stripe's Privacy Policy: <https://stripe.com/privacy-shield-policy> and Paypal's: <https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full>

**2.2.2 Information we collect automatically as you use the Service:**

Device and Connection Information

Each device you use to access the Service is allocated a (user-configurable) identifier. When you access the Service, we record the device identifier, the IP address it used to connect, user agent, and the time at which it last connected to the service.

This information is gathered to help you to manage your devices - you can view and manage the list of devices by connecting to the Service with the TextRP chat client app.

Currently, we log the IP addresses of everyone who accesses the Service. This data is used in order to mitigate abuse, debug operational issues, and monitor traffic patterns. Our logs are kept for not longer than 180 days.

#### 2.3 What information is shared with third-parties and why?

**2.3.1 Sharing data with connected services**

We may share your information when working with our suppliers in order to provide the Service.

In addition, The TextRP homeserver is a decentralized and open service. This means that, to support communication between users on different homeservers or different messaging platforms, your username, display name and messages and files are sometimes shared with other services that are connected with the TextRP homeserver.

**2.3.1.1 Federation**

Matrix homeservers share limited user data with the wider ecosystem over federation.

When you send messages or files in a room, a copy of the data is sent to all participants in the room, including (depending on room settings) participants who join the room in future. If these participants are on remote homeservers, your username, display name, messages and files may be replicated across each participating homeserver.

We will forget your copy of your data upon your request. We will also forward your request to be forgotten onto federated homeservers. However - some homeservers may be outside our span of control, so we cannot guarantee they will forget your data.

Federated homeservers can be located anywhere in the world, and are subject to local laws and regulations.

Access control settings are shared between homeservers, as well as any requests to remove messages by “redactions”, or remove personal data under GDPR Article 17 Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten). Federated homeservers and Matrix clients which respect the Matrix protocol are expected to honor these controls and redaction/erasure requests, but other federated homeservers may be outside of the span of control of the TextRP chat client, and we cannot guarantee how this data will be processed. Federated homeservers can also be located in any territory, and will be subject to the local regulations of that territory.

**2.3.1.2 Bridging**

Some Matrix rooms are bridged to third-party services, such as IRC networks, Twitter or email. When a room has been bridged, your username, display name, messages and file transfers may be duplicated on the bridged service where supported.

It may not be technically possible to support your management of your data once it has been copied onto a bridged service. Bridged services can be located anywhere in the world, and are subject to local laws and regulations.

Access control settings, requests to remove messages by "redactions" or remove personal data under GDPR Article 17 Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten) are shared to bridging services, which are expected to honor them to the best of their ability. Be aware that not all bridged networks or bridges support the necessary technical capabilities to limit, remove or erase messages. If this is not acceptable to you, please do not use bridged rooms.

**2.3.1.3 Integration services (bots and widgets)**

The TextRP homeserver provides a range of integrations in the form of Widgets (miniature web applications accessed as part of the TextRP chat client) and Bots (automated participants in rooms).

Bots and Widgets currently have access to all the messages and files in any room in which they participate, although we are adding a more sophisticated access control system.

#### 2.4 Transfers of your data

If you use our Service your data will be transferred outside of the EU to other homeservers and services connected with textrp.io as this is necessary to provide the Service to you. By the very nature of our Service, such transfers will occur regularly and we have no control over the safeguards adopted by third party recipients.

Where we engage suppliers to process your data outside the EU we will ensure that appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.

#### 2.5 Sharing data in compliance with enforcement requests and applicable laws

In exceptional circumstances, we may share information about you with a third party if we believe that sharing is reasonably necessary to

* (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request,
* (b) protect the security or integrity of our products and services (e.g. for a security audit),
* (c) protect the TextRP chat client and our users from harm or illegal activities, or
* (d) respond to an emergency which we believe in good faith requires us to disclose information to assist in preventing the serious bodily harm of any person.

#### 2.6 How do you handle passwords?

We use a Web 3.0 interface for accessing the Services. This means you use your digital wallet to sign in and access TextRP. We do not ask for, nor store, your private wallet keys.

It is your sole responsibility to keep your wallet private keys and other sensitive information confidential. Actions taken using your credentials shall be deemed to be actions taken by you, with all consequences including service termination, civil and criminal penalties.

If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security, you must notify the TextRP chat client immediately by sending an email to <nft@textrp.io>. Suspicious devices can be deleted using the User Settings management tools in the TextRP chat client.

If you lose access to your wallet, you lose access to that wallet’s account on TextRP. Contact us at <nft@textrp.io>.

You can manage your account by using the TextRP chat client. It is our policy to not change passwords or access methods on your behalf. This is ultimately to protect your privacy and the integrity of your account.

#### 2.7 Our commitment to children's privacy

We never knowingly collect or maintain information in the Service from those we know are under 16, and no part of the Service is structured to attract anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use the Service.

#### 2.8 How can I access or correct my information?

You can access all that we collect about you by using the TextRP chat client and managing your User Settings. You can request a download of a copy of all your data as per section 2.1.3.

#### 2.9 Who can see my messages and files?

In unencrypted and encrypted rooms, users connecting to The TextRP homeserver (directly or over federation) will be able to see messages and files according to the access permissions configuration of the relevant room. This data is stored in the format it was received on our servers, and can be viewed by the TextRP chat client engineers (employees and contractors) under the conditions outlined below.

Rooms have different visibility settings which are determined by the room administrators. The history visibility possibilities are the following, by increasing order of openness (least open first):

* joined: people need to join the room to see the history, and will only see the messages sent after they joined. +
* invited: people can only see messages sent after they were joined, no history is visible before that point.
* shared: people need to join the room to see the history, but will then see the history up to when this visibility setting was set (the change is not retroactive).
* world\_readable: everyone can see the room history without even joining the room.

If you share information in a room set to world\_readable this might be available to people outside the Matrix ecosystem and indexed by search engines, via projects such as [archive.matrix.org](https://matrix.org/legal/privacy-notice/archive.matrix.org). Please ensure that you double check the settings of each room before you participate and always avoid sharing personal and sensitive data in unencrypted rooms.

In encrypted rooms, the data is stored in our databases but the encryption keys are stored only on your devices or by yourself. Users can optionally backup an encrypted copy of their keys on the Service to aid recovery if they lose all their keys and devices. This key backup is encrypted by a recovery key that only the user has access to. Xurge Digital Lab LLC (the company, employees, and contractors) are unable to read your message content in our database. If you lose access to your encryption keys, you lose access to your messages forever.

We use HTTPS to transfer all data. End-to-end encrypted messaging data is stored encrypted using AES-256, using message keys generated using the Olm and Megolm cryptographic ratchets.

#### 2.10 What are the guidelines textrp.io follows when accessing my data?

As per 2.11, the Company manages the hosting and data management of the homeserver. We restrict who at the TextRP (employees and contractors) can access user data to roles which require access in order to maintain the health of the Service;

We have technical procedures in place to prevent unauthorized access to user data;

We never share what we see with other users or the general public.

#### 2.11 Who else has access to my data?

Xurge Digital Lab LLC is a Processor of your data, managing the homeserver. We host the majority of the Service in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. Here’s AWS’s privacy policy: <https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/>. Amazon controls physical access to their locations.

We host some Services in Twilio data centres. Here's Twilio's privacy policy: <https://www.twilio.com/en-us/privacy>.

Physical access to our offices and locations use typical physical access restrictions.

We use secure private keys when accessing servers via SSH, and protect our AWS console passwords locally with a password management tool. We also enforce 2FA for accessing AWS.

We log application data (username, user IP and user agent). We keep logs for no longer than 180 days.

#### 2.12 What happens if TextRP is sold?

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, personal data held by us about our users will be one of the transferred assets.

#### 2.12 How is my data protected from another user's data?

All of our users' data for the Service currently resides in the same database cluster which is due to the nature of our Service. We use software best practices to guarantee that only people who you designate as viewers of your data can access it. In other words, we segment our user data via software. We do our best and are very confident we're doing a good job at it, but, like every other service that hosts their user data on the same database, we cannot guarantee that it is immune to a sophisticated attack.

#### 2.13 What should I do if I find a security vulnerability in the Service?

If you have discovered a security concern, please email us at <nft@textrp.io>. We'll work with you to make sure that we understand the scope of the issue, and that we fully address your concern. We consider correspondence sent to <nft@textrp.io> our highest priority, and work to address any issues that arise as quickly as possible.

Please act in good faith towards our users' privacy and data during your disclosure. White hat security researchers are always appreciated.

### Making a Complaint

We try to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention at <nft@textrp.io> if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures.

If you want to make a complaint about the way we have processed your personal information to the supervisory authority, you can contact the ICO (the statutory body which oversees data protection law) at <https://www.ico.org.uk/concerns>.

# FAQ

Check the FAQs below or send a message in a room to get community support or get in touch with our team.

### [🔗](https://element.io/help#account-management) Account management

#### 🔗 How do I reset my password?

Please note that TextRP operates as a web3 login and does not utilize traditional password systems associated with accounts. Instead, your login is associated with your XRP wallet ID or other Web3 wallet integrations. If you encounter login issues, please ensure that you have access to your Web3 wallet and associated authentication methods.

#### 🔗 Do I need an email address to register?

Using an email address when creating a TextRP account is not required but optional for backup and additional security purposes.

Although adding an email address is not mandatory, TextRP reserves the right to occasionally request it for abuse mitigation purposes in accordance with the privacy policy.

#### 🔗 What is the username used for?

Your wallet ID, which serves as your unique identifier on XRPL, will be used to create a distinctive username on TextRP. This allows us to differentiate you from others with the same display name. However, you have the flexibility to create any profile username of your choice. Rest assured, this approach helps maintain the confidentiality of your information.

#### 🔗 Can I register with a phone number?

Not anymore. Sorry!

### [🔗](https://element.io/help#chat) Chat

#### 🔗 How can I mention someone?

Just type their name, and they will be notified accordingly. You can autocomplete by pressing the tab button; you don’t need any prefixes for the mention to work!

#### 🔗 With what type of mentions will I get notified?

By default, you’ll be notified if your display name and your user name are mentioned. You can add other names, nicknames, or keywords for which you want to be notified in your settings in the Notifications section.

#### 🔗 How do I send a file?

Simple; just drag the file into TextRP, and it will automatically upload. Alternatively, you can click on the paperclip icon in the text input field and browse your filesystem.

#### 🔗 Can I upload a file from a mobile device?

Yes, you can! On a mobile device, simply press the arrow that is pointing upwards (on iOS) or the + symbol (on Android) while in a chat and select your file.

#### 🔗 How can I invite a contact to use TextRP?

You can invite someone to a room by using the "Invite to this room" button in the right-hand side "Room members list" using their XRPL ID (if they have one) or by using display name.

#### 🔗 Is there a way to know if a message has been read?

Yes! TextRP shows who has read a message by displaying their avatar to the right of the message. Hovering over these avatars (or clicking on them on mobile) will give you the user’s information and reading time.

#### 🔗 How can I search for a file or message?

To search a room from the desktop, click on the magnifying glass located near the top of the screen. You can then type in a keyword or filename that you are searching for, with the ability to select whether you want to search within the specific chat room or across all conversations. For encrypted rooms, search only works on desktop (not TextRP web and mobile) and you need to have "Message search" enabled in the TextRP Security & Privacy settings.

On TextRP iOS, tap the room name at the top, then "Search room."

On TextRP Android, tap the three dots in the top right corner, then "Search."

### 🔗 Settings

#### 🔗 How do I change my account settings?

Click on the drop-down menu under your name in the top left corner of the web or desktop app and select. From here, you can change all of your account and general TextRP preferences.

#### 🔗 How do I change my notification settings?

TextRP allows you to customize your notifications at two levels: across the app and per room. You can configure how you will be notified for given events by default in the Notifications section of your Settings (accessible from the drop-down menu under your name in the top left corner of the web/desktop app).

You can configure keywords, default notification settings for groups, one-to-one chat rooms, invites, and calls. The notifications can be:

**Turned off:** You won’t be notified when the selected event happens.

**Turned on:** You will get a message popping up when the selected event happens, but no sound.

&#x20;**Noisy:** you will get a visual highlight (red badge and/or text highlight) and a sound and/or vibration (depending on the device) when the selected event happens.

Then, for finer tuning, you can easily configure per-room notification settings from the context menu you get by clicking on the \[...] icon that appears when hovering over the room name in the room list. This is very handy when you wish to temporarily mute a room or make sure you’re not missing anything from a given discussion. You can select the following options:

**Mute:** You won’t be notified, even if your name or a keyword is mentioned.

**Mentions only:** you will only be notified for the items that are meant to be ‘noisy’, i.e., your name and keywords.

**All messages:** you will get a silent notification for every message happening in the room; your ‘noisy’ events (e.g., your name being mentioned) will still be noisy (red badge and sound).

**All messages (noisy):** every message will make a noise on top of the visual notification. Your noisy events will still be differentiated by a red badge.

#### 🔗 How do I set up email notifications?

You can set TextRP up to email you when you have missed some activity (new messages, new invites, etc.). You can do this in the Notification section of your Settings and turn on the toggle labeled 'Enable email notifications’.

#### 🔗 How can I change my display name?

You can change your display name in the General section of your Settings (accessible from the drop-down menu under your name in the top left corner of the web/desktop app).

#### 🔗 How do I reset my password?

The TextRP team does not facilitate password resets or reactivation of XRPL accounts. Authentication for TextRP occurs through your web3 wallet accounts associated with the XRPL. If you encounter login issues, please ensure access to and proper authentication through your respective web3 wallet accounts used for TextRP login.

### 🔗 Rooms

#### 🔗 How can I change the settings for a specific chat or room?

You can change the settings for any one-to-one chat or group room by clicking on the cog icon next to the room name.

#### 🔗 Can I restrict the access of a room to a given set of people?

You can restrict the access of a room to people who have been invited by selecting the “Private (invite only)" option in the "Security & Privacy" settings of the room. People knowing the link of the room won’t be able to access it if an invite hasn’t been explicitly sent to their email address or ID.

By adding the room to a Space, you can also select "Space members" to only allow anyone that is a member of the Space to join.

#### 🔗 Can I limit the access of a room to people knowing its existence?

You can restrict the access of a room to people with whom you shared a link to the room by selecting the “anyone who knows the room link” option in the room settings. Selecting this option will not make the room publicly visible to the rest of the community.

#### 🔗 Can I make a room publicly discoverable?

You can get your room listed in your server’s directory by checking the button labeled "Publish this room to the public in example.com's room directory?". By checking this box, it will be discoverable to anyone searching for a room on the server. However, they will be able to join only if you haven’t restricted access only to people with an invitation.

#### 🔗 Will anyone be able to join my room if I list it in the directory?

If your room is listed in the directory, people will know it exists, but they will only be able to join it if you allowed the access to it to anyone who knows the link.

#### 🔗 If I make the room accessible to anyone, will new joiners be able to read the history?

It depends on how you configured the history visibility for the room. By default, every member of the room can read its history. But you can decide that new joiners will only see the history they are part of, i.e.,. Members will only be able to see the history of the room since they were invited (or joined; both options are available).

However, it is important to note that these settings are not retroactive and only apply from the time they are selected. If you have a discussion with the history, being visible to every member since the start, then change it to discuss an important matter so that people only see the history from the time they joined. New members will have access to all the history before you changed the option.

#### 🔗 Why would I want to make the history visible to anyone?

Making the history visible to anyone means that people can see what is being said in a room before joining it. So typically, if you are browsing the room directory and see a room that might be interesting, you will have the opportunity to “peek” into it, having a view of what has been said without joining it. This gives users the opportunity to gauge a room before joining. It is a useful option for rooms publicly listed and hosting public discussions or for people you share your room link with, so that they have an idea of what they’re going into before joining.

#### 🔗 What is a room address?

By default, the room has an ugly identifier that is barely human readable. Setting an address for a room allows you to give it a simple reference, making it easier to share a link to it. The addresses are linked to the server you are registered on (e.g. XRPL.org if your ID is @username:XRPL.org). A room can have different addresses on the same homeserver and addresses on different homeservers. They are just a user-friendly entry point, but are required the moment you want to make the room accessible in other ways than by inviting users.

#### 🔗 What is a favourite room?

The favourite section allows you to pin and order important rooms which will be displayed at the top of your TextRP room list.

#### 🔗 What is a low priority room?

The low priority section allows you to declutter your room list by moving rooms you consider less important to the bottom.

#### 🔗 What is the “historical” section?

The **“historical”** section lists all the rooms you’ve left and allows you to access the history you have there. You won’t see the new activity in these rooms, only what happened before you left.

#### 🔗 As a room admin, can I decide what members can do?

In the roles and permissions section of the room’s settings, you’ll be able to configure the privilege levels required to perform various actions in the room, e.g., send a message, ban/kick members, redact messages, update the room’s settings, invite new members, etc..

### 🔗 Privacy, abuse, and notices

#### 🔗 Privacy, abuse, and notices

Please note that TextRP is a platform that allows you to access any homeserver in the XRPL network, just like a browser allows you to access any website you want. Each homeserver has different approaches to Abuse Management and Privacy, which are out of TextRP’s control.

#### 🔗 How is my personal data being used?

Here is TextRP’s [privacy policy](/user-guide). If you have additional questions, contact our Team.

#### 🔗 How do I report on content in TextRP?

Report inappropriate content on TextRP by hovering on the message and clicking the more options button (three dots) and "Report content".

#### 🔗 How do I submit an abuse report?

To report a general abuse issue, please [contact.](http://team.textrp.io/)

To report an abuse issue on the TextRP please [contact.](http://team.textrp.io/)

To report an issue outside of TextRP homeserver, please contact the administrators of that homeserver.

### 🔗 End-to-end encryption

#### 🔗 What is encryption?

Encryption means scrambling a message in such a way that only those knowing the secret key can unscramble it. We use encryption to keep your messages and files private.

#### 🔗 What is end-to-end encryption?

End-to-end encryption means your messages and files are encrypted before they leave your device and stay encrypted until they reach the other participants' devices. End-to-end encrypted messages can only be read by the participants in the conversation.

#### 🔗 Who can read my messages?

Thanks to end-to-end encryption, your messages can only be read by the participants in the conversation and nobody else. This means your messages can't be read by anyone at TextRP or by any other third party. It also means that if you lose your keys, you won't be able to read your messages.

#### 🔗 Why can't I read a message?

If you can't read a message, it's because your device doesn't have the right key. If your device doesn't have the right key, there are two ways you might be able to get hold of the key:

If your device doesn't have the right key, there are two ways you might be able to get hold of the key:

**Restore all of your keys from key backup:** This process involves retrieving all your encrypted keys from a secure backup stored on your TexRP homeserver. It helps regain access to your messages and is especially useful if you've lost access to your devices.

**Upload keys from a manual backup (advanced):** This process allows you to manually upload keys from a backup to restore access to your encrypted messages. It's a more advanced method and requires a certain level of technical understanding.

#### 🔗 What is Key Backup?

When key backup is enabled, your device maintains a secure copy of its keys on your TextRP homeserver. To ensure those keys can only ever be accessed by you, they are encrypted on your device, either stored by you directly or secured with a passphrase and uploaded to your TextRP homeserver. Your keys remain encrypted on your device to protect your privacy.

#### 🔗 Why is Key Backup necessary?

Key backup is crucial to help set up new devices and retrieve your message history. It allows recovery of full account access if you sign out of TextRP everywhere or lose all your devices. Additionally, it enables access to your message history on additional devices. This ensures that no one, not even your account provider, can access your secure backup.

#### 🔗 What’s a “recovery key”?

A recovery key is a unique 48-character key used to grant devices access to your secure backup. You can utilize it to verify additional devices and, in the event that you've signed out of TextRP everywhere or lost all your devices, the recovery key is crucial to regain full account access and recover your message history.

#### 🔗 What happens if I’ve lost my recovery key and I’m signed out of all my TextRP sessions?

Unfortunately, if you've lost your recovery key and you're signed out of all TextRP sessions, your previous secure messages will be lost. You'll need to re-verify yourself with other users.

#### 🔗 Is it safe to back up my encryption keys to your servers?

Yes. Your keys are encrypted before they are uploaded to your TextRP homeserver. Therefore, no one except you can see them unencrypted.

#### 🔗 How do I set up key backup?

Go to User Settings -> Security & Privacy and click Start using Key Backup.

#### 🔗 How do I restore from key backup?

Go to User Settings -> Security & Privacy and click Restore from Backup.

#### 🔗 How do I request the key from another device via key share?

When TextRP encounters a message it can't decrypt, it automatically queries your other devices to see if they have the necessary key. Keys will be shared automatically among trusted devices.

#### 🔗 What is a 'device'?

For historical reasons, when we say 'device', we don't mean your phone or your laptop specifically - you actually create a new 'device' each time you log in on TextRP (and destroy it again when you log out).

#### 🔗 What does it mean to verify or trust a device in TextRP?

TextRP uses trust to represent an additional layer of security within the app, over and above username and login authentication.

In TextRP, you can see every device that has joined an encrypted conversation. If a new and unexpected device joins, you can use device verification to check that it's genuinely the user. And if you suspect that a trusted device has fallen into the wrong hands, you can revoke that trust and remove its access to the ongoing encrypted conversation.

#### 🔗 Are all of my messages encrypted?

No, messages are only encrypted in rooms with encryption enabled. You can enable encryption by going to Room Settings.

#### 🔗 Can I search in encrypted rooms?

Please note that search in encrypted rooms is only possible on Desktop if it's enabled in "Security & Privacy" settings on TextRP.

#### 🔗 What does the red/green symbol mean at the top of the encrypted room?

If an encrypted room has a green symbol next to the room name, it means your device trusts every other device in the room. This is the gold standard.

If instead, there is a red symbol next to the room name, it means one or more devices are untrusted.

Verifying every device is still time-consuming — the team is actively working on solutions to improve this.

### 🔗 Reporting bugs and requesting features

#### 🔗 How do I submit a bug report?

From a mobile device, you can 'rageshake' (shake your phone when the app is open).

Alternatively, for iOS: Go to ‘Settings’ (cog in the top left) and select ‘Report bug’ under the ‘Other’ section.

Or from Android: Go to ‘Settings’ (three dots in the top right) and select ‘Report bug’.

For desktop and web: Go to ‘Settings’ under your profile, click on ‘Feedback,” and submit a report.

#### 🔗 How do I request a new feature?

Please submit a TextRP feature report as an issue on [here](http://team.textrp.io/).

### 🔗 Threads Beta

#### 🔗 Why does my homeserver need to support threads?

In order to reliably update the list of threads in a room and their contents, your homeserver needs to support threads via MSC3440. If your home server runs Synapse, this feature is available in version 1.55 and above. You can ask your homeserver administrator to upgrade your server to ensure threads are supported.

If your homeserver doesn't support threads, you will still be able to read and contribute to threads, but the feature might be unreliable. You might not see all threads in a room, and some messages might be missing, especially older messages. Therefore, we strongly recommend upgrading your homeserver.

#### 🔗 How does the room list unread badge work in regards to threads?

The room list unread badge displays the number of messages between your last read receipt and the last event in that room.

Sometimes, while reading a room, you might notice the room list unread badge decreasing by a larger number than the visible messages shown in the room timeline. This discrepancy occurs because of new messages tucked away in threads and hidden from the main timeline; the room list badge will no longer show them, but an unread dot will persist in the thread list until you’ve opened the thread.

Future enhancements to homeservers are expected to improve tracking thread read activity better.

If you have selected a different notification option like **“Mentions & Keywords”** or **“None,”** TextRP will honor this setting in the same way it did before the introduction of threads.

#### 🔗 How can I avoid missing messages posted to threads?

If at least one thread in the room contains unread messages, you should see a notification dot on the thread icon in the room header. Clicking it will take you to the thread list, which is sorted by the last reply to a thread. You’ll notice a dot on the right side of the thread tile indicating that a thread contains events you haven’t read yet.

#### 🔗 Why does the thread list unread badge show only a dot, and not an unread count?

As of the beta release, the thread list unread badge only shows a dot and not an unread count, regardless of your room notification options.

#### 🔗 Will the room list unread badge be incremented if someone sends a message in a thread I did not participate in?

Yes, the room list unread badge will be incremented if a message is sent in a thread you did not participate in. However, the team is currently exploring more granular settings for notifications in the context of threads.

#### 🔗 Why does a thread show as unread even if I already read it on another device?

For the beta release, clients might not always sync the read state between themselves reliably. Therefore, it is possible that a thread you’ve already read on mobile will still have a notification dot on TexrtRP web, or vice versa.

#### 🔗 Where are the read receipts in my threads?

As of the beta release, read receipts in threads shows who has read a message by displaying their avatar to the right of the message. Hovering over these avatars.

#### 🔗 Are push/email notifications supported?

Yes, following links from push or email notifications will display the event in the correct context within TextRP.

# Recommendation

**Convenient use of end-to-end encryption (E2EE)**

TextRP provides encryption for transports to and from the home server located at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, along with enabling end-to-end encryption (E2EE). This involves exchanging cryptographic keys among devices intending to exchange E2EE messages, initially complex but now user-friendly.

User-generated cryptographic keys are stored locally, posing a risk if inadvertently closed, rendering encrypted content unreadable. To mitigate this risk, key protection is available on the university's home server, where cryptographic keys are encrypted and stored, protected by a security phrase or a derived security key.

<details>

<summary>It is highly recommended to use this key backup (with a secure security phrase which is NOT your University password) and read on at <strong>Other important settings!</strong></summary>

</details>

If you login for the first time or login again without having made any backup of your security key yet, then the following window will be shown below;

<figure><img src="/files/Vn6baHARniak31TpCCFH" alt=""><figcaption><p><mark style="color:red;"><strong>You have to "skip" this, because you did not have any security key yet.</strong></mark></p></figcaption></figure>

Key protection is highly recommended for worry-free end-to-end encryption. Therefore you have to choose "Settings/Security & Privacy". Please look for **"Encryption"** and choose **"set up"** secure backup.

<figure><img src="/files/wu7YphZj2qF0a0S27AlD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Alternatively you can choose **"Security & Privacy"** by clicking next to your username.

<figure><img src="/files/v2qH3F7HrChtHu1xVGwh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the next window you can setup your key backup:

<figure><img src="/files/lON8CUJNBab976v8FKa7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If you choose **"Generate a Security Key"** and **"Continue",** then your security key will appear in the next window. This should be kept safe and retrievable as an emergency key.

<figure><img src="/files/4Ql3dm6UDgKOW0Ie0YMP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With each logout from TextRP and re-login or new login to TextRP on a new device, you will be asked for your security key. Without this key you don't have access to your old encrypted chats. Alternatively you can choose a strong security phrase (but please not the h-da password!).

Furthermore, the security key is generated in addition to the security phrase and should also be kept safe and retrievable as an emergency key. This security phrase will always have to be entered if keys are to be synchronized with the key backup.

<figure><img src="/files/69Uf5Dcg2ksZqenifjdJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You will be asked to confirm your passphrase for your security key:

<figure><img src="/files/evMHtxMwgbdWHGwwaXBZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The next window shows your security key, which you should keep safe and retrievable together with your strong passphrase.

<figure><img src="/files/Rwu0yXBJaSepcalA2jeg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Last but not least you may be asked to confirm your identity with your wallet sign-in on TextRP.

&#x20;You've successfully linked your Twitter account with Textrp.

**Important Note: Textrp's Bridge Functionality**

Textrp's bridge functionality is designed to enhance your text-based role-playing (RP) experience, but it's essential to understand its limitations and potential interactions with external platforms.

1. **Syncing of Direct Messages (DMs):** Please be aware that the Textrp bridge currently supports DMs moving forward. This means that any Direct Messages exchanged on your linked platform <mark style="color:blue;">**"X"**</mark> before the bridge setup won't be synchronized with Textrp. Only new DMs after the bridge setup will be integrated into your Textrp experience.
2. **Password Changes:** If you change your password on platform <mark style="color:blue;">**X**</mark>, you will need to re-bridge your account. This is because the bridge relies on the authentication token associated with your <mark style="color:blue;">**X**</mark> account, and changing your password invalidates the token. To continue enjoying the benefits of the bridge, simply follow the bridging process again after any password changes on <mark style="color:blue;">**X.**</mark>

We hope this clarification helps you make the most of Textrp's bridge feature while understanding its limitations and maintenance requirements. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

TextRP will allocate 10% of on-ledger app sales as a royalty to active\* accounts on the TextRP app with wallets that hold at least one Launch Pack. Terms apply.

\*An account is considered active when the user logs in to the app at least once in a 7-day period.

**How it works:**

1. Every on-ledger sale triggers a reward allocation in real-time to all active accounts with wallets that hold at least one Launch Pack, in proportion to the number of Launch Packs each wallet holds.
2. When the account claims the accrued amount in the user dashboard, TextRP sends the reward amount in XRP to the account’s XRP wallet address.

For example,

If at the time of program launch 2,500 Launch Packs were purchased, the remaining unsold 2,500 are destroyed. If a wallet holds 100 Launch Packs, its active account accrues 4% of the allocated rewards (100 Launch Packs/ 2500 Packs total in circulation = 4%) If on-ledger sales is 10,000 XRP during a 7-day period, the account earns 40 XRP in rewards during that period (10% allocated to the revenue reward pool = 1,000 XRP. 4% of that = 40 XRP,) assuming the account is active.

Launch Packs will be offered for 200XRP. The pre-sale whitelist members will have the option of purchasing the Launch Packs at a 40% discount.

The Chat Rewards program is expected to launch Q4 2024. Changes in development pace may change this outlook.

# Launch Pack NFT Rules

## Definitions

**Active user**: A user who has logged in to the Application at least once within the previous seven (7) days.

**Application**: The TextRP application

**LP NFT**: Launch Pack NFT

**LS NFT**: Lifetime Subscription NFT

**NFT**: Non-Fungible token on the XRPL.

***

## Lifetime Subscription

1. There is no limit to how many Launch Pack (LP) NFTs a wallet may hold.
2. A snapshot of wallets will be taken approximately seven (7) to thirty (30) days before the TextRP chat reward program launch. One Lifetime Subscription (LS) NFT will be airdropped per wallet that holds at least one (1) LP NFT.
3. LS NFTs activate a free six(6)-month subscription to the full functions of the TextRP application. This includes a personal phone number (upon feature activation) and 600 messaging credits per year.
4. The subscription renews automatically, provided the user logs in with a LS NFT in the wallet at least 30 days before the subscription expires and the wallet contains the LS NFT at the time of renewal.
5. If the LS NFT is transferred away from the account wallet, the subscription for that account will end on the expiration date of the current subscription.
6. After a LS NFT activates or renews a subscription, if the LS NFT is transferred away from the account wallet, the NFT is not valid for activation or renewal of another account subscription until after the current subscription expiration date.
7. If the subscription expires, the user is downgraded to a free account, loses access to their personal phone number and will have 30 days to upgrade their account or add a LS NFT to retain their number. Thirty (30) days after expiration, their phone number is unassigned permanently and the user would be assigned a new number if they upgrade again.
8. Each active account with at least one LS NFT will receive 600 free bonus messaging credits per year, prorated and credited on the first day of each month (50 monthly credits.) Credits do not multiply for holding >1 LS NFT.

***

## Chat Rewards

1. 10% of every on-ledger sale in the TextRP application will be allocated to a Chat Reward pool. On-ledger sales include user purchases of credits and subscriptions via the XRPL.
2. Seven (7) to thirty (30) days before the launch of the public beta version of the TextRP application, all unsold Launch Pack (LP) NFTs will be destroyed or “burned,” leaving only the purchased LP NFTs will be in circulation.
3. The Royalty Rewards program will launch after the public beta is completed.
4. Each LP NFT held by active users accrues a portion of the reward pool allocation for each on-ledger sale using the formula

   \<aside> 🪙 Reward amount per NFT **=** Royalty allocation ➗ LP NFTs in circulation

   \</aside>
5. Active users accrue rewards for each Launch Pack NFT they hold. Users may claim rewards when the total amount accrued > 1 XRP by logging in to the TextRP application and claiming the reward on the Launch Pack NFT panel. The reward will be sent to the account wallet address.
6. If a Launch Pack NFT is transferred away from the active user’s wallet, it forfeits any accrued rewards.
7. This program will be active for ten years after program launch. TextRP reserves the right to modify the program after the period and other terms may apply.
8. The LP NFTs grant access to claims from the royalty reward pool. However, TextRP makes no promises, guarantees, or warranties on amount of rewards that can be earned or any income potential.
9. LP NFTs do not represent nor constitute at any time past, present, or future, any shares in TextRP or its owner Xurge Digital Lab, LLC.

# Deeplinks: Introduction

* **Purpose and Scope**: This documentation aims to detail the deep link schema and its symbiotic relationship with TextRP's platform, focusing on creating a seamless, secure, and inclusive communication experience.
* **Overview**: Deep links in the TextRP context are URLs that direct users to specific locations or actions within the messaging platform. These links are integral for seamless interaction, allowing users to jump directly to chats, rooms, or perform certain actions.

# Ledger Relay Messaging

The Ledger Relay Messaging (LRM) feature in TextRP introduces a method for messaging securely across the XRPL. This section provides a detailed overview of the LRM algorithm, its purpose, and functionality, particularly in handling scenarios where the recipient has not yet onboarded to the TextRP platform.

**Purpose of LRM:** LRM in TextRP aims to enhance inclusivity and connectivity. It allows users to send messages to any XRP wallet address, extending communication capabilities beyond the confines of app users.

**Functionality:**

1. **Messaging Non-Onboarded Users:** When a TextRP user sends a message to an XRPL wallet address not registered with TextRP, LRM steps in.
2. **Message Storage:** The message is securely stored within TextRP's infrastructure, awaiting recipient onboarding.
3. **Notification via XRPL:** LRM sends a microtransaction to the recipient's wallet address. This transaction includes a memo field, which carries a notification about the pending message.
4. **Recipient Onboarding:** If the recipient visits TextRP, they seamlessly onboard via XRP wallet confirmation and have access the stored message.

**LRM Algorithm Steps:**

1. **User Initiates Message:** A TextRP user composes a message and sends it to an XRPL wallet address.
2. **Check Recipient Status:** TextRP checks if the recipient wallet address is associated with an existing user.
3. **If the recipient is onboarded**, the message is handled via the [Matrix](https://matrix.org/) protocol.
4. **LRM Activation for Non-Onboarded Recipients:** If the recipient is not on TextRP, LRM securely stores the message and triggers a microtransaction with a message notification.
5. **Recipient Receives Notification:** The recipient sees the transaction and memo in their XRPL wallet, alerting them of a pending message.
6. **Accessing Messages Post-Onboarding:** If the recipient joins TextRP and links their wallet, they can access all messages sent to them while they were non-onboarded.

This innovative approach ensures that no message is lost due to the recipient's absence from the platform and fosters a more inclusive communication environment.

# Deep Links Schema

In TextRP, deep links are tailored to facilitate interactions by directly connecting users to individual chat sessions or group rooms.

**Deep Links to Users:** For personal messaging, the deep link incorporates the recipient's XRPL wallet address, providing a straightforward way to start a conversation:

`https://app.textrp.io/#/user/@{wallet_address}:synapse.textrp.io`

**Deep Links to Rooms:** To join a conversation in a room, the deep link uses the room's unique identifier, allowing users to access group discussions:

`https://app.textrp.io/#/room/!{roomID}:synapse.textrp.io` or `https://app.textrp.io/#/room/#{roomalias}:synapse.textrp.io`

These URLs serve as powerful tools for connecting users seamlessly to the TextRP messaging ecosystem.

# Implementation Guide

Integrating deep links for direct user communication and room access in TextRP involves dynamically constructing URLs that utilize the Matrix protocol's capabilities. Here’s how you can generate these deep links:

**Generating Deep Links to Users:**

```javascript
function createUserDeepLink(walletAddress) {
  const serverDomain = 'synapse.textrp.io';
  return `https://app.textrp.io/#/user/@${walletAddress}:${serverDomain}`;
}
```

**Generating Deep Links to Rooms:**

```javascript
function createRoomDeepLink(roomIdentifier) {
  const serverDomain = 'synapse.textrp.io';
  const roomPrefix = roomIdentifier.startsWith('!') ? 'room/' : 'room/#';
  return `https://app.textrp.io/#/${roomPrefix}${roomIdentifier}:${serverDomain}`;
}
```

To use these functions, simply pass the wallet address or room ID/alias to the respective function. This will return a string containing the complete deep link which can be used in your application to redirect users directly to the desired chat or room in TextRP.

### EXAMPLE

In this scenario, we have a website featuring an NFT, and we want to provide a "Contact Seller" button. When clicked, this button uses the NFT owner's wallet address to create a deep link for direct messaging in TextRP. Below is an example implementation:

**HTML Sample with NFT Owner Contact Feature:**

```html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <title>NFT Marketplace</title>
</head>
<body>
    <h2>NFT Details</h2>
    <!-- Display NFT Information -->
    <img src="path_to_nft_image.jpg" alt="NFT Image">
    <p>NFT Name: Awesome NFT</p>
    <p id="nftOwner">Owner Wallet Address: rExampleOwnerWalletAddress</p>
    <button onclick="contactSeller()">Contact Seller</button>
    <script>
        function contactSeller() {
            var ownerWalletAddress = document.getElementById('nftOwner').innerText.split(': ')[1];
            var contactLink = `https://app.textrp.io/#/user/@${ownerWalletAddress}:synapse.textrp.io`;
            window.location.href = contactLink;
        }
    </script>
</body>
</html>
```

In this HTML:

* The NFT's image and details are displayed.
* The `contactSeller()` function retrieves the NFT owner's wallet address from the page (in this case, hardcoded for demonstration purposes) and constructs a deep link for messaging the seller in TextRP.
* Clicking the "Contact Seller" button will direct the user to a TextRP chat with the NFT owner.

This approach seamlessly integrates the ability to contact an NFT owner directly from an NFT marketplace or gallery website.

**Best Practices**

* Ensure the wallet addresses and room IDs are accurate and correspond to the intended recipient or room.
* Encode URL parameters to handle special characters and spaces where necessary.
* Test each deep link to confirm it directs to the correct location within the TextRP app.

By adhering to this guide, developers can effectively incorporate deep links into their services, facilitating direct and efficient access to TextRP's messaging features.

# Testing and Validation

* **Testing Procedures**:
  1. Generate deep links using different user IDs.
  2. Test these links across various devices and Matrix clients.
  3. Validate the direct navigation to the intended location or action.
* **Troubleshooting Tips**: Ensure the XRPL wallet address is correctly formatted and test the links in different network environments.

# FAQs and Support

1. **Q: How do I ensure the wallet address used in the deep link is valid?**
   * **A:** Validate the format of the wallet address before constructing the deep link. TextRP may handle additional validations like checking if the address exists on the XRPL.
2. **Q: Can deep links be used to initiate group chats or only direct messages?**
   * **A:** Deep links can be used for both. User-specific deep links initiate direct messages, while room-specific deep links can connect to group chats or public channels.
3. **Q: Are these deep links secure and private?**
   * **A:** Yes, deep links themselves only direct users to a specific part of the app. The TextRP platform ensures communication security and privacy through end-to-end encryption and other measures.
4. **Q: What happens if a user clicks a deep link but doesn't have a TextRP account?**
   * **A:** The Web 3 experience of TextRP ensures the user onboards as easily the first time as the 50th time. A simple sign on with their wallet is all it takes to access the chat interface.
5. **Q: Can deep links be customized with additional parameters, like a pre-filled message?**
   * **A:** The standard deep link format for TextRP doesn't support additional parameters like pre-filled messages. Any such customization would depend on TextRP's specific implementation and support for extended deep link functionalities.
